information on Celtic symbol/writer?
i recently saw this symbol on a homepage (the bottom left one):
http://www.celticattic.com/jewelry/images/celtic/newpewter/magical_pendants.JPG
does anybody have some info on it, because i have been unable to find any myself.
That is a double symbol - the circle means infinity, the Celts believed in rebirth and renewal, an endless cycle. The other symbol is the triskela (not sure of the spelling), it is a representation of the goddess, maiden, mother and crone.
Look up (this is going to sound funny) explanations of the symbol under the website for the old television series "Charmed". This was the symbol the writers used on the Book of Shadows. It actually does a good job of explaining the meaning.

Anything with 3 in it is an auspicious Celtic symbol of longevity and eternity – my husband designed my engagement ring and it has two triple knots on it, either side of the stone. The circle in your one links them all. The triple aspect stands for the Maiden, Mother and Crone aspects of the Goddess, as well. Its a lovely symbol to own and wear.
