not at all. People get Chinese characters…and they aren’t Chinese. People get words written in Latin, and they don’t speak Latin, etc. If you’re going to put something on your body for life it should be something you love. Having a love for all things Ireland is enough justification imo.
Celtic design is intriguing and very esthetically pleasing. I would think that would be considered more of an honor for you to get a tattoo like that. The fact that you think so highly of Celtic symbolism is a positive to Irish, right?
I’m Scottish/Irish/Welsh and I wouldn’t be offended by that at all. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. The culture’s very interesting and celtic designs are really pretty. Go for it.
